The company SMart Nose SA (SA: equivalent to Inc.) was founded in July 2004. The shares capital is equivalent to about 500'000 USD.
Dr. Thierry Zesiger, vice-president, is the founder of the company, he is the principal shareholder with the majority of votes and shares.
Before the founding of SMart Nose SA, the development and comercialization of the system was conducted by the own company created in 1996 in the name of Dr. Zesiger and called LDZ for Laboratoire Dr. Zesiger. LDZ started the development of the SMart Nose system in 1997. The SMart Nose was the first system of this type developed and comercialized worldwide.
The company is located in Marin-Epagnier, near Neuchatel in the French speaking part of Switzerland, at about 30 km of France. The Neuchatel region is well known for micro-technique and watch industries.
The activities of SMart Nose SA are as follow:
- analytical instruments development
- application development (mainly for the SMart Nose(R) system)
- service analysis: SMart Nose SA is also a consulting company for research and development in analytical chemistry. The SMart Nose technology is patented in Europe and USA. With our patented technology, our system is more stable and about 100 times more sensitive than competitors.
